EQ (equalization) is the process of boosting or cutting specific frequency ranges to change how a sound feels in a mix. Think of it as tone-shaping with a scalpel.

The frequency spectrum (simple map)

• Sub bass: 20 to 60 Hz
• Bass: 60 to 150 Hz
• Low mids: 150 to 400 Hz
